Every shire has different rules regarding tree pruning and removal. It is important to be aware of these rules before pruning or removing trees on your property. There can be large fines for removing trees without consent.

Byron Shire Council

In the Byron Shire any tree or branch within 2m of an approved dwelling can be removed with out consulting council. Any tree which is on councils undesirable list can be removed without consulting council.

Ballina Shire Council Tree Pruning and Removal

If you are in Ballina shire you will need to talk to council if you are wanting to cut down any large tree. There are some rules in relation to removing larger trees.

Lismore Council Tree Pruning and Removal

Lismore Council is a lot more strict with what can and can’t be done with trees in town but in rural areas away from water catchment zones there are no regulations on tree removal.

Any tree that is over 5m or has a girth of over 500mm at 1m above the ground will require a DA to be pruned or removed although fruit trees and noxious weeds are exempt.

Rayco RG37t – 37hp

This compact stump grinder is perfect for most suburban blocks, cuts quickly, does minimal lawn damage but still has a push blade and the agility of tracks to get through jobs fast.

Redroo SHP400 – 25hp

This machine is light and can fit through narrow gates, get across decks, paved areas, through houses or around pools without the risk of damage, yet it is still a powerful little machine.

To Tie it all Together

All this fits onto the truck so I can be ready quickly for any job that comes up. Sometimes there are multiple large stumps around the yard then a few smaller ones close to a pool. This way I can do all of these stumps without having to charge for extra travel time getting too and from the job.
